PRIVACY

Privacy at WristCodes.

These notes describe the current WristCodes app and this informational website. Updated October 26, 2026.

Your cards stay on your devices.

WristCodes reads barcode images locally using Apple’s frameworks. It stores the label you choose, the code format, the decoded text value and identifiers used to keep your saved cards in sync. For QR codes, it also saves a compact black-and-white module pattern generated and verified on your iPhone so your Watch can display it offline. The app does not automatically open links stored in QR codes. The app does not send your cards or photos to a developer-operated server or AI service.

Photos and camera access.

The app asks for camera access when you choose a camera feature. If you choose an existing photo, Apple’s photo picker gives the app access to the selected image. Images are processed in memory; WristCodes does not keep a copy of the original photograph in its saved-card collection. Apple’s photo library may download an iCloud photo to your device when you select it.

iPhone and Apple Watch.

Saved cards transfer between your paired devices using Apple’s WatchConnectivity framework. After delivery, the Watch keeps a local copy for offline use. The Watch also remembers your last selected card. The app has no separate account, advertising SDK, or developer-added analytics.

Removing a card.

Remove a pass in the iPhone app to delete it from the phone and queue the updated card collection for your Watch. Keep both devices connected until the Watch acknowledges the change. A disconnected Watch can retain an older copy until it receives that update. Device backups and system services are governed by your Apple settings.

This website.

This site has no advertising scripts, analytics tags, account system or signup form. The interactive Watch preview uses illustrative sample codes and does not upload data. The hosting provider may process standard request information, such as IP addresses, to deliver and secure the site.

Before the App Store release.

These notes will be reviewed alongside the final App Store privacy disclosures and support contact before public release. Current app capabilities and compatibility limits are described on the compatibility page section.
